EXCEPTIONS: Due to licensing requirements, community borrowers may NOT borrow videos from the following producers: AEMAC, BBC, CBC and PEMC. If in doubt, please check the labels on the videocassettes or ask at your campus library. We are also able to book or bring in videos from other libraries only for NLC faculty and students.
DUE DATES: All borrowed items are stamped with the date due and they are due by midnight on the date stamped. Dawson Creek and Fort St. campuses have book drops where items can be deposited after library hours and while the campus building is open. Books may be returned at other locations only during library open hours.
ONLINE INFORMATION: The Dawson Creek and Fort St. John campuses have automated circulation for books and videos. To view your library account information, select User Services from within the library catalogue, WebCat, then click on USER STATUS INQUIRY.
RENEWALS: Library items on loan for which renewals are permitted can be renewed several ways:
- In person at the borrowing location
- By telephone - check your campus location
- Books from Dawson Creek and Fort St. John may be renewed ONLINE
OVERDUES/FINES: Fines are charged, not as a source of revenue for the library, but to ensure the equitable use of library materials by all borrowers. An overdue notice is sent after the due date then a final notice sent a week later. If the item is not returned by the the third week, an invoice for replacement of the item is generated. Replacement costs include the current price of the item plus a $15.00 processing fee. When the item is returned, the invoice is cancelled and overdue fines are payable. Once an invoice is paid and an item reordered, no refunds will be issued.
Borrowing privileges are blocked when fines reach $25.00 and may be restored only upon payment of the amount owing.
Student transcripts and the right to register for courses may be withheld until library records are cleared.
APPEALS: Appeals should be directed to the Coordinator of Library Services, Janet Beavers, on the Dawson Creek campus.
