Convocation

GraduationNorthern Lights College celebrates your achievements through an annual convocation ceremony. Students enrolled in courses in which successful completion leads to the attainment of a credential or recognition of an achievement are honoured. Convocation ceremonies are held annually at Dawson Creek (includes graduates from Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge), Fort Nelson and Fort St. John.

Application to Participate in Convocation

Watch your mailbox in the next few weeks for a special letter from Northern Lights College. It will include an Application to Participate in Convocation form, which you must fill out and return to Student Services (with the applicable fee). If the form and fee are not returned by the deadline indicated in the letter, you will not be able to join your fellow convocants on stage during the Convocation ceremony.

To be eligible to participate in convocation the following requirements must be met:

  1. You must submit an application to graduate to Student Services.
  2. You must have successfully met your program outcomes in the prior term or expect to successfully meet your program outcomes within the calendar year.
  3. The Registrar’s Office must verify your eligibility for credential(s).
  4. You may be recommended by the Program Dean or by the Registrar for recognition of an achievement.
  5. Outstanding debts must be paid in full.

The College reserves the right to establish eligibility for convocation.
