These indexes and databases provide access to articles in scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers. Many of these articles are available full-text online.

  1. Academic Search Premier (1987-) Articles on a wide range of subjects including sciences, technology, health, humanities and current events. Full-text content.

  2. Canada's Early Women Writers  Presents biographical and publication information for more than 470 women who lived in Canada or wrote about Canada, & whose work  was published before 1940.  

  3. MLA International Bibliography  A bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations. Includes literature from all over the world. Topics include folklore, literary theory and criticism, and the dramatic arts.

  4. Oxford English Dictionary  The accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium, a guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words.
  5. Readers Guide to Periodical Literature  Subjects include popular literature, current events, business, fashion, politics, crafts, food, sports, history & science
  6. NoveList   A readers' advisory service, not only provides access to 155,000 fiction titles, but it also offers a wide range of feature content that will expand your staff's ability to serve fiction readers of all ages and increase the reach of your library's program including author read-alikes, book discussion guides, reading lists and more.
  7. NoveList K-8   Contains enhanced subject access for over 60,000 fiction titles aimed at the K-8 population. Full-text reviews from sources like School Library Journal and Booklist are available for many titles
