“Savanna Lindley received a tool box and a starter set of tools from Bumper to Bumper for having the highest marks in the Dual Credit AST program, and Levi Germain received the Northern Metallic tool award for the second highest marks.

“I believe that entering a trades program at a young age involves a lot of courage on the student’s part,” said Cork. “Sometimes they falter and struggle with staying engaged. Anything that we can use to motivate and encourage students is a huge plus.”
This motivation is evident in the shop, as Cork has posted pictures of previous student winners. He plans to continue this tradition to help motivate students in the future.
Cork attributes part of the students’ success to how the program operates.
“Another big piece of the puzzle is that sense of ownership in the program,” he explained. “This trade really is a community of people working together to create professionals of a high calibre.”
Cork is proud of all his students, and believes they will do well after graduation.
“This is just another opportunity to help students engage the businesses and people that they will work with in their futures as automotive service techs,” he said.
