Business Management student earns Governor-General’s Bronze Medal

FORT ST. JOHN – Barbara Zunti, a Business Management Diploma student at the Fort St. John Campus of Northern Lights College, is the 2012 recipient of the Governor General’s Bronze Medal.

The Governor General’s Bronze Medal is awarded for academic excellence to the NLC student who achieves the highest overall average upon graduation from a diploma-level, post-secondary program (minimum two-year, full-time duration).

Zunti returned to school after working for a number of years in the field of accounting. During her time at NLC, Zunti completed upgrading to earn her Grade 12 Adult Dogwood, and also completed the Business Management Diploma program. She is considering opening her own bookkeeping business.

The medal was presented by NLC Registrar Dr. Loren Lovegreen at Convocation ceremonies held on June 14 at the Pomeroy Hotel in Fort St. John.

The award is provided by His Excellency, the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada.
