DAWSON CREEK – The producers of Editions with Terry Bradshaw are pleased to announce that Northern Lights College (NLC) will be featured in an upcoming segment on “Hidden Gems of Higher Learning,” as part of the show’s Canadian Education series. View it on YouTube here.
More than one million job openings are expected in British Columbia as the economy grows and some of the province’s workforce retires. Of these openings, experts say 78 per cent will require some form of post-secondary education. Known as B.C.’s Energy College™, NLC is meeting this critical need for skilled workers by producing job-ready graduates in a number of different fields.
Founded in 1975, NLC has eight locations across northern British Columbia. Spanning a wide range of industries, the College offers programming that includes vocational, certificate and diploma, foundation trades training, and apprenticeship level trades programs. The College is home to three Centres of Excellence: Oil and Gas, Clean Energy Technology, and Aerospace.
NLC’s Fort St. John Campus houses the Centre of Training Excellence in Oil and Gas. The Dawson Creek Campus is home to the Centres of Excellence in Clean Energy Technology and Aerospace. Across the three Centres of Excellence, students gain hands-on experience and training, as well as classroom-based instruction. All NLC students graduate with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful transition to the workforce.
The five-minute Editions television segment will educate viewers on the education programs offered at NLC and will highlight the important role the school is playing in helping to meet British Columbia’s need for skilled workers.
