*NEW* Canbriam Aboriginal New Student Award

Value $1,000: Open to Aboriginal students enrolling in any full time program. Applicants must submit a one-page essay detailing their need for the award and describing their career aspirations.

Audrey Clark Memorial Award
1 @ $5,000
• Must be a single parent
• Must be entering full-time studies at Northern Lights College in either the Applied Business Technology program or the Business Management program

Bailey Helicopters Aircraft Maintenance (AME) Entrance Award

1 @ $5,000
• Student from northern British Columbia
• Enrolling for the first time in the AME Basic Training program at Northern Lights College (Dawson Creek campus) September 2012 intake
• Essay of approximately 300 words that addresses the applicant’s career aspirations as well as any relevant community or educational experiences and achievements.

Minerva Foundation for BC Women Award (Aboriginal)

4 @ $1,250 each
• Aboriginal female student planning on enrolling in the fall semester or a full-time NLC student continuing on from the January/February semester in any credit program at Northern Lights College
• academic proficiency

NLC Foundation Entrance Award
10 @ $1,000 each
• Must be attending Northern Lights College for the first time (dual credit students are eligible if they are enrolling in a program other than their dual credit program) in a full time program
• An essay of approximately 300 words detailing your career goals and why you wish to attend NLC

Paul Dampier Career and College Prep Entrance Award
2 @ $1,000 each
• Adult learner enrolled in full-time studies in the Career and College Preparation program
• Registering in the Fall 2012 semester
• An essay of approximately 300 words detailing planned program and career goals and financial need

Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) Award
2 @ $1,500 each
• full-time student enrolled in any of the following programs: Heavy Duty/Commercial Transport Technician Foundation, Heavy Duty/Commercial Transport Technician Foundation/Level 1, Millwright Foundation Trades Training, Welding Level C
• applicants must include a description of their career plan, their interest in working in the service, supply and manufacturing sector of the petroleum industry and any prior knowledge of the petroleum industry

EnCana Aboriginal Student Award
6 @ $1,000 each
• Two awards for Fort Nelson First Nation students enrolled in Power Engineering, and two awards for the Field Operator course for Fort Nelson First Nations students. The remaining two awards will be for any northeast BC Aboriginal learner residing in and around Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Fort Nelson areas enrolling in full-time studies at any campus
• Applicants must submit a one-page essay detailing their need for the award and describing their career aspirations
• Awards will be presented after learners have registered and successfully attended their first week of classes at Northern Lights College

Pengrowth Energy New Student Award

1 @ $700 each
• full or part time in the Clean Energy program or in university transfer courses and planning on pursuing a career in the environmental field
• applicants must provide an essay detailing an awareness of job conditions, challenges, and opportunities related to a career path in the environmental field
• Students are asked to make contact with someone in the industry as research for this essay

Talisman Aboriginal New Student Award
4 @ $1,250 each
• Aboriginal student enrolled full-time in any program at Northern Lights College, except Career and College Preparation
• preference given to students from Northeast BC bands or First Nations (please indicate band or status, if applicable)
• indicates on application how award will benefit his/her educational goals
