FORT NELSON – Two students at the Fort Nelson Campus of Northern Lights College are the 2011 recipients of the Paul Dampier Career and College Preparation (CCP) New Student Award.

Brett Hannah and Kristiana Bailey were presented with the awards by CCP instructor Val Keeler and Financial Aid Officer Dustin Anderson.

The award, which is valued at $1,000 per student, was established in memory of Paul Dampier in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the community as well as for his role as Executive Director of the NLC Foundation.

The award is given to an adult learner enrolling in full-time studies in the Career and College Preparation program at any NLC campus. Each applicant submits a 300-word essay detailing planned program and career goals in support of the application.

Student awards, scholarships and bursaries at NLC are coordinated through the Northern Lights College Foundation. For more information, contact Executive Director Donna Kane at 250-784-7613.
