Hill receives 2014 Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal

DAWSON CREEK – David Hill, a graduate of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program at the Dawson Creek Campus of Northern Lights College, is the 2014 recipient of the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal.

First awarded in 1979, the Silver Medal is presented annually to one student from each of British Columbia’s community colleges and provincial institutes. The student chosen has excelled in academic achievement and has contributed in a meaningful way to the life of the institution, or to the community.

Hill achieved 89 per cent in the AME program, which he completed in January. In addition to his academic achievements, he served as president of NLC’s Student Council, taking the lead in organizing many student events. Hill also regularly assisted other student, often serving as class representative.

The announcement was made during Dawson Creek Convocation ceremonies on June 6. The award is provided by the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
