CHETWYND – Northern Lights College celebrated the completion of a special intake of the Level C Welding program at the Chetwynd Campus.

The seven-month long program wrapped up in August, with students learning gas welding and arc welding theory, basic metallurgy, basic blue print reading, applied mathematics and principles of safety. The goal of the program is to provide students with job-ready skills as job opportunities for those with welding training occur in practically every mechanical or metal trade.

Mike Franklin (Practical) and Alex Bellaras-Soto (Theory) achieved the highest marks in the program, and Les Davis was recognized for his commitment to the program.

Welding Level C will be offered again in Chetwynd starting in November. To register, check admission prerequisites, or learn more details on the program go to the NLC website, nlc.bc.ca, or contact the Chetwynd Campus at 250-788-2248.
