NLC and Canbriam Energy Inc. announce Aboriginal New Student Award Winner for 2014

On , In College News

Laberge is currently enrolled in the Career and College Preparation (CCP) program at the Chetwynd Campus, and is a member of the Saulteau First Nations.

Theresa Laberge is a mature student who overcame considerable challenges to return to school. She plans to continue her studies at NLC once she receives her diploma in June 2015.

Thinking she may be “too old to return to school,” but with the encouragement of her daughter and college representatives, she signed up for CCP – a tuition-free program that allows students to achieve their Adult Dogwood Diploma or upgrade for college programs by achieving the prerequisites they need for admission.

“It is very satisfying to be able to assist someone with Theresa`s determination and tenacity who has overcome so many challenges to continue her education” said Donna Phillips, EVP Corporate Development. “I was struck by her essay and have no doubt she will succeed.”
