Tyler McDonald, from Fort St. John, also a Governor General’s Bronze Medal award winner, is now going to use this funding to continue on at the University of Northern British Columbia for his Bachelor of Social Work. The scholarships are awarded annually to undergraduate students who have completed at least one year at a public post-secondary institution in B.C. and are transferring to another degree-granting institution to complete their studies.
“Post-secondary students can seamlessly transfer between colleges, institutes, and universities in B.C.,” said Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson. “Congratulations to over 100 undergraduates who took advantage of the flexibility of our transfer system and qualified for a scholarship.”
In total, 109 students were awarded $545,000 in Ike Barber Transfer Scholarships this year, with McDonald being one of the recipients.
