DAWSON CREEK – A record number of participants tested their skills during the Skills Canada Peace Region competition held on March 9 and 12. More than 75 students, ranging from middle school to College graduate Apprentices from throughout northeastern British Columbia, completed projects in 15 different divisions, featuring 10 different areas of trades specialization.
As a result, many of the division winners qualified to represent the Peace Region at the Skills Canada B.C. provincial championships in Abbotsford on April 20.
The Peace Region event was divided into Secondary and Post-Secondary divisions held at the Dawson Creek and South Peace campuses of Northern Lights College (NLC), South Peace Secondary School (SPSS) in Dawson Creek, and North Peace Secondary School (NPSS) in Fort St. John.
