Course Description

Join professional farrier Aaron Harbidge in this intense 2-day trimming clinic. Learn the steps and concepts to analyze your horse’s hooves and correctly use your tools to trim the frog, sole and wall according to your horse’s individual needs for optimal hoof health and balance. Horse owners will complete the course with a solid grasp of hoof-trimming and many move on to successfully care for their own horses’ hooves. Shoes and nails are provided, students supply their own tools and horse.

The course is being offered in partnership with the Dawson Creek Exhibition Association. 

Notes:

  • All students must have BC Horse Council Insurance or equivalent (i.e., Alberta Horse Council Insurance) A copy must be provided upon registration.
  • All registrants must provide only 1 horse per day. Students can bring a second horse to work on Day 2. The horse not being worked on will need to be left at students trailers as room is limited.
  • Camping is available at the exhibition grounds but there are no hook-ups at the camping areas.
  • Students can pre-order from the farrier prior to the clinic
