A strong essential skills foundation is crucial for students interested in pursuing a career in trades. This course imparts essential skills for Cook training, addressing such topics as reading text, document use, and numeracy including whole numbers, fractions, percents, measurement, data analysis and algebra. Successful completion of ESTR 022 satisfies the academic admission requirements for NLC’s Professional Cook 1 program.
Restrictions: Must be in the Career & College Preparation Essesntial Skills Program.
Other Prerequisites: - Grade 8 completion or equivalent performance on the CCP English and Math Appraisals.- Reliable internet and computer access.- Identification of a Trade of interest.- Minimum 17 years of age when program starts.
