SOWK200 Introduction to Social Work Practice

(3.0 credits)

This course offers an introduction to critical and generalist social work practice, which is concerned with personal troubles faced by individuals, families, groups and communities. The major histories, ideologies and values that influence the profession of social work practice are explored. An understanding and application of critical thinking and social work values are applied to social justice obligations.
