Students will demonstrate human service worker competency in knowledge, skills and values through the integration of seminar concepts in a practicum setting. During the practicum placement students will develop and apply their skills as helping professionals by directly engaging in supervised practice work. Individualized learning goals and objectives will be developed to suit the students’ personal interests and learning needs.
Prerequisites: SSWD110 Introduction to Social Service Work, SSWD210 Methods of Intervention and Practice Areas, SSWD120 Ethics and Practice
Restrictions: Must be in Social Services Worker Diploma Program (SSWD2).
Other Prerequisites: Or permission of the Chair. Students must have a minimum program cumulative GPA of 2.33 (C+) to register for SSWD-220; students must have a current CRC filed with the Registrar's Office.
