Students will be placed in an industry setting for a period of 80 hours. In this time, students will be exposed to operating terminology and become involved with the daily routine and duties performed by an Oil and Gas Field Operator. Practicum placements will be arranged only upon recommendation of the Instructor, and efforts will be made to provide placements in line with student preferences. Employers will be requested to provide a variety of tasks in line with student preferences. Employers will be requested to provide a variety of tasks in line with the student’s learning objectives.
Restrictions: Must be in the Oil & Gas Field Operator Program (OGFO1).
Other Prerequisites: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Occupational First Aid - Level 1, H2S Alive , and Common Safety OrientationAll four certificates must be valid for the term of the Practicum.
