My Little Alien: Raising a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder
April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, and Iuliia would like to invite you to join her to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from the perspective of a clinical psychologist, parent, and community member. Iuliia will briefly discuss the history of research on autism, its signs and symptoms, and the challenges and struggles of parents facing the diagnosis of autism in their children; as well as the little wonders we witness every day. The lecture will also explore the ways communities can support families living with ASD to de-alienate children and make them successful members of society.
In case you forgot, Knowledge Unleashed: an NLC Symposium is a public lecture series presented by our NLC instructors. This is an opportunity for them to share topics that interest them, that they are experts in, or are just really passionate about — outside of the regular teaching schedule.
Check out the event on Facebook and be sure to share it with your family, friends, and students!
