Career and College Preparation – Intermediate Level Certificate

Career and College Preparation provides the environment and resources for adults to acquire the knowledge necessary for successful entry into the labour market, advancement in careers, entry into further specialized training or enhance personal development.

Independent, self-directed learning is encouraged.

At this level (approximately grade 10 coursework), students could be working toward specific career or advanced education goals.

The program includes English, math, plus two of the following: computers, science, or social studies. Classes are generally individualized instruction.

Students may wish to enter a trade or vocational program once complete.

All in-person courses are available as study blocks.  Students can start at the beginning of each month.

440 hours minimum; approximately 20 weeks.

Admission Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older; or
  • 17 years of age and out of school for at least one year; or
  • By special arrangement with the School District.

Note: There is no maximum age.

  1. The program is not eligible for Canada Student Loans, however fees and textbook funding may be available through the Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG).
