The Northern Baccalaureate Nursing program is a collaboration between the University of Northern British Columbia, Northern Health, and Northern Lights College to train registered nurses in the North for employment in the North. When enrolled in this program, you will take all general studies and prerequisite courses for admission to UNBC in your first two years (four semesters) of full-time study at Northern Lights College. In year three, you will transfer to UNBC in Fort St. John to complete your Bachelor of Science in Nursing in two years (five consecutive semesters).
To get started at NLC, apply to the Associate of Arts Degree (Health Studies). Admission requirements include English 12, Math 11, Biology 12, and Chemistry 11 or appropriate equivalencies. If you do not have all of those requirements, NLC has a full suite of upgrading.
As you near completion of your Associate of Arts Degree (Health Studies) at NLC, you then apply to the Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program at the University of Northern British Columbia.
Program details, intake availability and specific entrance requirements are available at UNBC.
